STE(A)M Truck Celebrates our 3 Year Middle Grades Math Partnership with Clayton County Public Schools!
Wow! This month marked the 3-year middle school math partnership between STE(A)M Truck and Clayton County Public Schools. We were honored to begin our partnership in one of the most critical and challenging years of school, the 2020-2021 school year, supporting 6th grade students virtually as they learned coding through our GeoLED build. The following school year, 2021- 2022, our Programming team supported 7th graders with the Geodesic Dome build and College Tour experience while our Teacher Engagement team supported the 6th grade teachers delivering the STE(A)M Truck build. This year, the Teacher Engagement team supported 6th and 7th grade teachers as they delivered the STE(A)M Truck build, while the Programming Team led the 8th grader students through Good, Clean, Fair Food, learning about urban gardening, food insecurity and community advocacy as they analyze the impact of food deserts on our lives. A proud and unique feature of our partnership with CCPS included hands-on programming and hip-to-hip coaching for teachers at each school ensuring that teachers have the tools and knowledge to continue elements of hands-on learning throughout their school year. We are thankful for our continued partnership with CCPS as we work together to find new ways to engage students in applying and learning STEAM subjects, with a goal of having a greater long-term impact on their educational careers.
